Anne Briggs 7" 1963 vinyl EP "The Hazards of Love"
Extremely rare UK original pressing on the "topic" record label
In all round truly excellent condition : from memory the record has only been played three times
Record number TOP94
Matrix numbers : Side 1 - 289 - A 5R, Side 2 289 - B 5R
The vinyl retains it's original sheen and is in virtually pristine condition with just a couple of very minor, barely discernible surface scuffs which are only noticeable when held up to the light
Each label is "as new". Any blemishes shown up on the accompanying photos are purely manufacturing marks, and there are certainly no spindle marks
The outer sleeve is also in almost "as new" condition with just a very small, slight upward bend towards the lower left hand corner - there is no creasing or unwanted writing and all sides and corners are excellent+ with not even the faintest hint of scuffing...quite remarkable for such a sought after record of this age
The record plays superbly with crisp, clear audio. The tracks are :
Side 1 : Lowlands Away, My Bonny Boy
Side 2 : Polly Vaughan, Rosemary Lane
For some copies of this record there was an accompanying information sheet - this sheet is NOT present with this offering though the text of the sheet is on the reverse side of the outer sleeve anyway
Anne Briggs is considered by many to be the "godmother" of English folk music and this record is not only extremely rare but therefore hugely sought after, and can take pride of place in any serious collector's collection
Just a word about myself : I am not a record dealer (though I have nothing against record dealers!)...indeed, I am a retired Maths teacher who has been collecting records since the early 60's and am now selling my vast collection in order to help fund my retirement. This partcular item deserves to go to a good home!
