Rare 78rpm - Victor Special Pressing - President Herbert Hoover - Radio Address 1931 Two-sided, 12-inch 78rpm "President Hoover's Address on Welfare and Relief Mobilization" - Broadcast from Fortress Monroe, Va., October 18, 1931 - (National Broadcast, carried by the CBS and NBC Red and Blue Networks) This record contains President Hoover's portion of a National Address, parts of which were broadcast from different locations. (Will Rogers also took part, broadcasting from Beverly Hills, and his address was pressed separately... SEE MY OTHER ITEMS) This Private/Personal pressing was made as a presentation copy, to someone whose service warranted recognition
In early April, I offered and sold a vinyl test of this rare recording... this is an original shellac Victor pressing Note: Hoover speeches are especially rare, as he made no commercial recordings, either as a candidate or as President.
