Description

Collectors, here is a historical disc, Victor Blue Seal 12 inch #55255.  Wow, it is an abridged version of Rhapsody in Blue played by the Paul Whiteman Concert Orchestra, with composer George Gershwin at the piano!!  This is the FIRST recording of the piece, made shortly after the historic February 1924 concert premiere!   Fun version, great clarinet playing at the beginning and a frantic ending, good stuff!  The record plays well, with some surface noise.  Gershwin and the boys recorded another version after the start of electrical recording, in about 1927.  That one was a big seller, I think this one is less common, where you gonna find another one??   Make this record the star of your collection!  Reasonable buy it now given what it is, go for it!!
