Description
Collectors, here is a rare and interesting record, Victor HMV 10 inch 78 #V.A.39. circa 1935(?). The legendary Enrico Caruso sings his famous 1918 rendition of "Over There", with the song "Parted" on the flip side, with orchestra. An exuberant, if phonetic, performance by Mr. Caruso, I really liked the line "The Yanks are COMMMMMINNNNG", very enjoyable listen. Mr. Caruso died in 1921, but from the looks of the record and the runout groove, I believe it was made in the 1930's. There are, as I write this, very few copies of his "Over There" available on eBay. Of course, there is nothing like this HMV version, I would think it is quite scarce, at least in the USA. If you like what you see, do not pass this up, who knows when another one will come up for sale! Sensible buy it now price given what I have here, go for it!!!
