Description

Collectors, with my apologies to Judy Garland, here is the REAL thing, Monarch #2807, the song from the St. Louis 1904 World's Fair, the 1904 release of "Meet Me in St. Louis, Louis" sung by baritone S. H. Dudley with orchestra.  See pictures, correct 1904 label with no award information above Nipper and correct $1.00 price sticker on back (Victor reduced price for 10 inch records to 60 cents in 1905).  Mr. Dudley (real name Samuel Rous) sang many solos and also as a member of the Edison Quartet and the Hayden (Haydn) quartet in the 1900-1905 era.  Later on Mr. Dudley was an executive with Victor.  Record plays very well, there is surface noise as you would expect in this early a record.  Also, Mr. Dudley does pronounce "Louis" as "Lou-ee" on the record (thank goodness!).  What a find!  Sensible buy it now price, try and find another one, go for it!!!
Shipping to USA addresses only. $4.50 media mail postage and handling, record will be carefully packed and shipped in a new box.  Please pay withing 48 hours of purchase and positive feedback appreciated!!  See my other lisitng for other early 78s and thanks for looking!!
