Victor Monarch 3343
Play-graded using a 1970's BSR record player, 33/45/78 with a stylus for 78 rpm records.
Haydn Quartet: Our Sunny Southern Home--Take 3; recorded November 13, 1901. Pressed in 1902.
Relatively light surface wear (scuffs and scratches); less than I’ve seen on most of these 120+ year-old records. There is an area of dust that is more engrained along the top of the record.
V/V+ usual surface noise/fuzziness for one of these 1902 First Dog Monarchs; one can hear dialogue (between Messrs. Hooley and Bieling, presumably) with tolerable distinctness. The dialogue constitutes the majority of the record. Yes, THAT word is employed, as well. The record concludes with the quartet’s rendition of “In The Evening By The Moonlight.”
