LYRIC TRIO - EARLY VICTOR MONARCH RECORD - UNLISTED TAKE!

LOW OPENING BID - NO RESERVE!

Scarce, early Victor Monarch Record, pre-matrix number 1081 "The Flowers that Bloom in the Spring" from Gilbert and Sullivan's "Mikado" by the Lyric Trio (Grace Spencer, William F. Hooley, Harry Macdonough). Take 2 recorded April 24, 1902. Interestingly, according to Fagan and Moran, and the online Victor discography, only takes 1 and 3 are listed as being issued. Overall condition is VG- to VG with moderate surface wear and graying in some of the grooves. There is a small pressing "inclusion" (a foriegn body in the shellac - looks like a tiny splinter of wood) at about the 4:00 position affecting a few grooves at the very start. Plays loud and clear with no skips or other issues. Carefully cleaned and conservatively graded.
