Description
In 1936, Victor Records issued what was then, I think, its first album set devoted to popular music. The "All Star Album presenting the Original Pioneers of Swing dedicated to the memory of Bix Beiderbecke" is just that. With the exception of the Hoagy Carmichael sides, these are recordings that featured Beiderbecke when he and other jazz greats played for Paul Whiteman in the late 1920s. I have seen several copes of this album in my 57 years of collecting so imagine it was moderately successful. Album includes 12-page original booklet. Spine of album is damaged but records are in fine condition. (Only one of six records shown.)
