Payment Victor Ten Inch Predog 3004 S.H. Dudley
As most of my regular customers know, I almost never use the word "rare" in my ebay listings, but here I go!
In January of 1901 when the very first 10" diameter Victor records were issued, they were labeled as "Victor Ten Inch Record" and numbered from 3001 to 3016. That title appeared only on the pressings made in the first week in January 1901!!! After that, the label was changed to read "Victor Monarch Record."
Needless to say, very few of these earliest specimens issued that first week have survived today (at last count there are around 30 discs known to be in the hands of collectors).
In his splendid book "The Collector's Guide To Victor Records" (now out of print), Michael Sherman describes this label as "Extremely Rare."
Offered is Victor Ten Inch 3004 by S.H. Dudley entitled "Put Me Off At Buffalo." He is accompanied by a piano.
The record is in V condition with some steeling. The first few grooves are very scratchy and the record plays with intermittent distortion. There are a couple of grooves that hang near the end.
Add $6 (U.S. address) for shipping/handling. With over 30 years of experience, you have no concerns about flimsy boxes and poor or inadequate packaging with my 78 shipments!
