In 1931 Victor announced their new Long Playing Program Transcriptions designed with finer grooves and 33rpm playing speed. They were not much more successful than Edison's attempt at the same a few years earlier.
Here is the inaugural one, an upbeat demo entitled "Victor Artists' Party" and "Victor Music Festival" on Victor record # DL-5.
Unlike most of the other Victor Program Transcriptions which followed, this one was not "dubbed" from existing 78s, but was a "Live" performance with Frank Crumit as Master of Ceremonies, and featuring Victor's prize vocal group The Revelers, as well as piano duets by Arden & Ohman, plus Nat Shilkret & The Victor Orchestra.
On the reverse side, Nat Shilkret directs the Victor Symphony Orchestra with various selections.
The record is in excellent-minus (E-) condition with light label scuffing around the center holes.
Add $4 (U.S. address) for Media Mail shipping/handling.
For International Air Mail shipments-a single 10" record, safely packaged and shipped to most overseas locations will usually cost you $19.00 (I will send invoice). Please don't request a thin or light package, for I will not compromise my safe shipping procedures.
With over 35 years of experience, you have no concerns about flimsy boxes and poor or inadequate packaging with my 78 shipments!
