BV 1054, “Woman Blues!” with Victoria Spivey (vocals and piano)) and Lonnie Johnson (vocals and guitar), from 1962. This is a sealed copy and is presumed to be mint. The jacket is almost completely enclosed in original shrink wrap that is slightly torn at upper right on the back. I cannot guarantee which pressing this is, but it is a fairly heavy package, suggesting the original pressing and label. Songs are “Christmas without Santa Claus”, “A Big One”, “Let’s Ride Tonight”, “What Is This Thing They’re Talking About”, “I’m a Red-Hot Mama”, “Grow Old Together”, “Beautiful World”, “I Got Men All Over This Town”, “That Man”, and “Thursday Girl”. This is one of a set of original Bluesville LPs from several collections brought together for sale this week on eBay. Most are original DG copies in remarkable condition, and many are in the original shrink wrap. Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $18.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 additional within U.S. and Canada, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $11.75 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with padding on all sides, including edges, to prevent any seam splitting; it will be placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
