Viktor Pikaizen Violin Recital: Works of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Franck & Ravel

Pikaisen is accompanied on piano by his daughter Tatiana.

German digital stereo-pressing, produced by a local bank in Esslingen, southern Germany, in 1990. Pikaisen played there for two evenings and in between he recorded this 2LP-set in Leonberg with a local recording studio.

This may well be one of the rarest violin recitals ever, at least it's an utterly obscure one. A highly interesting recording of one of the great Russian violinists who for some reasons never quite enjoyed the success of his contemporaries and predecessors, at least not in Europe or the States.
