Description
This is a 1970 Indian classical stereo reissue of Vilayat Khan & Bismillah Khan - Duets. Originally released in 1967, this is a later reissue on the red HMV "Nipper" label. This is not a UK pressing but the much more rare Indian release.
The record has been ultrasonically cleaned and the vinyl has come up spotlessly clean with a good amount of gloss but with numerous visible scuffs and hairlines but no feelable damage - see photos.The labels & spindleholes are clean with some faint spindle trails visible. I have graded VG.
The vinyl plays through as it should with vibrant sound quality, a little low noise in parts, but no jumping or sticking. Beautiful & hypnotic music with a real sense of the interaction between the musicians captured in the recording.
The cardboard outer sleeve is in excellent condition - almost near mint. Amazingly clean with with little or no age discolouration, it is very crisp and smooth with only a number stamped on the rear. No writing, stains, tears or tape.
Finally there is the lovely original printed inner sleeve showing other Indian releases of the time available from The Gramophone Company Of India. Sadly this has sustained some damage to the opening & is torn. To preserve it from further damage we have popped the record into a brand new paper inner sleeve - you will receive both.
This is a beautiful record to own, play and enjoy, cleaned and tested, ready to pop straight onto your turntable.
