This is an extremely rare, vintage 11" x 14" promotional poster for James Brown and his new single, "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag." Poster dates from 1965, at the dawn of Brown's super-stardom...the bottom of the poster mentions "Soon To Be Seen In 'Ski Party,'" the movie which helped usher in mainstream recognition. Item seems to have been prepared by his booking agency, Universal Attractions, for the purpose of hyping his life show to booking agents, since there's no mention of his label King. This is a thin paper stock, not a thick poster stock, and is in very good to excellent condition with vertical folds at 1/3 and 2/3 across, and a horizontal fold at middle; additional crease marks and light wear at right side. Item will be shipped folded in half, as it has been for the past 50+ years. This is not a magazine clipping or recent copy, this is an original, vintage artifact.
