Description
Vintage 1946 Jazz 78 record: Django Reinhardt (guitar) & Stephane Grappelli (violin) - "Bellville" & "Liza". Ensemble is "The Quintet of the Hot Club of France", disk is manufactured in England. I'm not a professional record grader, but played on my system prior to listing - Both sides played clean, no skips, just a bit of occasional crackle typical for an old 78. Marker 'X' on side A label for some reason unknown, slight warp to the disk that did not affect play for me. Run time is approximate, 78s usually go around a max of 10 minutes for both sides combined. Estate item. Generic paper sleeve, no other cover. I Think an outstanding example of some of the founders of this jazz style from 78 years ago, and 78 records have their own character when it comes to recordings... Must have been early in their career, as the label misspelled Grappelli's name with a 'y' instead of an 'i' at the end.
