Description
This 12-inch LP is a 1955 first pressing of the classic Bing Crosby "Merry Christmas" album.
It was in my 94-year-old aunt's home but I doubt it had been played in years. We did not find a turntable in her home when we cleared it out.
This album meets all the requirements for a first pressing: It is on Decca's black label with the DL 8128 printed on the top left corner of the cover.
The cover itself shows its age, though it isn't torn. There is an old price handwritten in ink on the front, as well as a spot that looks like perhaps a sticker was torn off.
The inside sleeve is very interesting. It is an imprinted plastic bag rather than a paper sleeve. Each side advertises other Decca records and one side also includes instructions for how to care for the LP.
I am not an expert on grading of record albums and I have no way to test this to see how well it plays. Please check the photos carefully for the condition of the album, the sleeve and the cover.
My aunt did not smoke, had no children or pets and had lived alone since 1971.
