Great assortment of rare posters and prints

HAND-SILK SCREENED original vintage 1968 poster is in EXCELLENT CONDITION, with florescently vivid colors on heavy poster stock. All edges straight, all corners sharp. No tears, pinholes, marks or tape. Only very soft creases at right edge take it out of true MINT status. This artifact of the free-living, Northern California coast Big Sur life style is an incredibly rare find.
This is probably your only chance in this life to grab one of these original 1968 very limited run Big Sur Folk Fest posters.
They were never reprinted, in any form after the Festival, (though one-color, small paper flyers were also made prior to the event.)
*This year's poster was one of their very best, personifying the ever serene, simple back-to-nature life style of Big Sur, carrying on without a care, as the rest of the USA was embroiled in NIXON, VIET NAM, the RFK, Martin Luther King assassinations and other insanity that tore through the innocence of our newborn Aquarian age.

**more than 2 years after Richard's tragic fatal motorcycle accident on Highway One; singer, songwriter, great guitarist & humanitarian, Mimi Farina finally remarried at a later Folk fest this same year (September 7), at this same beautiful location of Esalen, atop the cliffs over-looking the Pacific Ocean.
It was in June of 1964 that Nancy Carlen, a friend of Mimi's and her sister, Joan Baez, organized a weekend seminar on "The New Folk Music" at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur. "Well, any time you found Joan Baez, Richard and Mimi Fariña, and me in the same place there had to be singing, so instead of meetings and lectures, sing we did, in the sulfur baths, on the lawns, even during meals sitting at long wooden tables in the lodge. Sunday afternoon we invited the neighborhood in general to join us, turned the deck of the Esalen swimming pool into a stage, and sang to everyone." Thus Nancy Carlen describes the first Big Sur Folk Festival.
It was here that Mimi and Dick Fariña debuted as a folk duo, playing the only three songs they had practiced well enough to perform in public. But their short set was a hit: the audience begged for more, and three different record companies, including folk giants Vanguard and Elektra, offered them recording contracts. The rest, as they say, is history...

I have taken EXTRA PHOTOS here because I wanted to show the crisp, straight edges and sharp corners of this superbly preserved poster (I don't believe in hiding edges) ...this poster came right out of the tube for photos, so there was some light curl present...
So we have 1: CROPPED with no distraction from "curled" edge, 2: FULL FRAME to show entire poster and 3: FLAT with light weights holding down the corners. *The poster will be shipped rolled in reverse, to release any residual tension from its 40 years rolled in a tube.
