Description
I am not a record dealer, but in checking different grading sites I would say this is EX to VG+ condition. I've played this on my old stereo system and it sounds like all the old 45's I played in the 1960's, I have only wiped this gently with a microfiber cloth, I'm sure you collectors have the proper disc cleaner to make it perfect. On both sides the Don't Drop Out in the upper left has been marked over with black felt pen & there are 2 small scratches just at the beginning of the recording, I've played this and it doesn't affect the the song
Markings on the white & blue label: Swan, Northern Music Ltd. ASCAP, Time 2:04 Produced by George Martin, SHE LOVES YOU (Lennon-McCartney) THE BEATLES S-4152-S markings on the trail off of the recording: side a " Mastering Reco-Art Phila" is machine stamped, side b has Virtue Studio is Hand Etching in the trail off
The plain beige sleeve has the start of a split at the bottom, one side has #39 in the upper corners, back side has no marks. The original owner of this record did local school proms and sock hops from 1962 to 1968, I believe the #'s on the sleeve indicate their place in his line-up. I will be selling more of the collection as I come up with good shipping boxes, I am very particular about getting my items to the buyer in perfect condition. This comes from my 97 yr old neighbor's home, he had to move quickly to assisted living and I am trying to sell some of his things to give him a little help, his son was the DJ.
**From FAB4COLLECTIBLES of new York I found this info on this early Swan issue of "She Loves You" : SWAN 4152, Released Early Sept 1964, Rare Blue Print on White Label, Dealers and collectors are beginning to realize that not only is the original 1963 white with red pressing of She Loves You extremely rare, but the early 1964 white label with blue print variation is also very scarce - Much sought after due to it's novel appearance and rarity. This is indeed the RCA, Rockaway New Jersey pressing with the Blue print that includes the "Produced by George Martin" credit on both sides. The "Mastering Reco-Art Phila: machine stamped markings is found in the trail off on the A-side, and the "Virtue Studio" Hand Etching on the B-side
