Vintage Jimmy Smith Vinyl Christmas '64 Album Verve Records Jazz Stereo 1964
Condition: Good pre-owned condition, light surface marks and some visible hairline scratches on the vinyl as shown in photos. Outer sleeve has minor discoloration and shelf wear on edges. No major flaws that impact playability noted, but surface scuffs should be expected with age.
This is the original 1964 release of "The Incredible Jimmy Smith – Christmas '64" on Verve Records (V6-8604). Features classic jazz organ renditions of Christmas favorites, arranged and conducted by Billy Byers and produced by Creed Taylor.
Tracklist includes: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Jingle Bells, We Three Kings, The Christmas Song, White Christmas, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Silent Night and more.
Personnel: Jimmy Smith (organ, arranger), Quentin Warren (guitar), Bill Hart (drums), plus orchestra on select tracks. Trio sessions recorded at Van Gelder Studios, Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Engineered by Rudy Van Gelder.
Verve Records label with stereo markings. Includes both the original cover and back jacket with liner notes.
