Description
This is a rare surf compilation form 1963 compiled of tracks from Northridge singles and, seemingly, whatever else was at hand. I find some of these guys on other small labels and some of this may be otherwise unreleased. The "big" names here are Dave Meyers and the Surftones and the Surfaris- but not THE Surfaris of Wipeout fame, with assists from Jim Waller & the Deltas, The Biscaynes [their semi-hit Church Key], the Soul Kings, and 4 others. As a document of time and place this is great stuff, and anybody who played in a garage band in this era can REALLY relate. Forget Jan & Dean and the Beach Boys- this is what went down at the high school hop. Overall it's in great shape- the cover is solid and the vinyl looks unplayed.
