A vintage original first pressing vinyl LP album copy of Beggars Banquet by the Rolling Stones (1968), London Records, Catalog# PS 539. This copy has the gold colored trim around the border edges, and all songs were credited to "Jagger; Richard". Labels are solid blue with silver ink, bold "Stereophonic" is just below "London" logo. The gatefold cover has some general wear, some spine wear, a bit of edge, and corner wear. There is a small split at the top of the jacket. It is in VG (Very Good) condition. The original London Records inner sleeve has some wrinkles, and a split at the bottom. Vinyl record: There are some light marks/light scratches. These should not affect playback of the album. No major scuffs, or deep scratches on either side. If you would like me to test play the album I would be happy to do that for you. I will give you my honest opinion on sound quality. The record is in VG+ condition as well.
Beggars Banquet is the 10th studio album by the band the Rolling Stones and was originally released back on December 5, 1968. It was released on Decca Records in the UK and London Records in the United States. Nearly all rhythm and lead guitar parts were recorded by Keith Richards, the Rolling Stones' other guitarist and the primary songwriting partner of their lead singer Mick Jagger; together the two wrote all but one of the tracks on the album. Rounding out the instrumentation were bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts, though all members contributed on a variety of instruments. As with most albums of the period, frequent collaborator Nicky Hopskins (24 February 1944 – 6 September 1994) played piano on many of the tracks.

The Stones forsook psychedelic experimentation to return to their blues roots on this celebrated album, which was immediately acclaimed as one of their landmark achievements. A strong acoustic Delta blues flavor colors much of the material, particularly "Salt of the Earth" and "No Expectations," which features some beautiful slide guitar work. Basic rock & roll was not forgotten, however: "Street Fighting Man," a reflection of the political turbulence of 1968, was one of their most innovative singles, and "Sympathy for the Devil," with its fire-dancing guitar licks, leering Jagger vocals, African rhythms, and explicitly satanic lyrics, was an image-defining epic. On "Stray Cat Blues," Jagger and crew began to explore the kind of decadent sexual sleaze that they would take to the point of self-parody by the mid-'70s. At the time, though, the approach was still fresh, and the lyrical bite of most of the material ensured Beggars Banquet's place as one of the top blues-based rock records of all time.
