Vintage 10" (25cm) LP: Bernard Michelin - Recital - 1960 Odeon Records - French Issue
Comments: Fully play-tested. The record was fairly clean when acquired. I cleaned it a little bit with a soft record cleaning cloth and record cleaning fluid before playing it. The buyer might find a deeper cleaning to be beneficial. Please read the full description and listen to the sound sample video so you will be fully aware of a few issues worth knowing about as you consider if this record is right for your collection.
Visual Record Condition: The vinyl condition is lower-end VG. The record is glossy with some surface hairlines and several audible scratches. Most of the scratches are shorter or lighter, but there is a longer, heavier scratch that crosses about half of tracks one and 2 on Side B. There is an almost triangular surface stain or mark at the 11 o'clock position on Side A. There is a short, but clicking scratch on the border of tracks 2 and 3 at the 1 o'clock position on Side A. Other scratches are less significant. In my photos, the glossiness of the record surface tends to hide some of the lighter scuffs.
Record Labels Condition: The labels look beautiful. The text is easy to read and the graphics look good. There is no writing or stickers on the labels.
Play Test Notes: I played this record from start to finish before offering it for sale. I even played some passages on different record players for comparison*. General background record surface noise is heard as a mild to moderate crackle, depending on the loudness or softness of the music at any given moment. Ticks and clicks from scratches are heard occasionally. The worst clicking from scratches is around the transition from track 2 to track 3 on Side A and from midway into track 1 to midway through track 2 on Side B. There is a sound sample video in the photos section. It shows the first part of Side B which is where the worst scratch is located. The scratch can be heard starting at about 1:20 in the video. Forgetting about surface noise though, the sound quality in the music is excellent. The music can certainly be enjoyed if you can tolerate background crackle and the clicks of a few scratches. There were no skips or sticks*.
*Department of Full Disclosure: The first time that I listened to track 3 of Side A on my primary turntable, there were a couple of skips during the scratch at the beginning (at 1.5 grams stylus pressure). I played that same track on 3 other turntables with slightly higher stylus pressure with no skips. Then I tried again on my primary turntable, and there were no skips. I guess the first or second play must have cleared out the problem.
Jacket Type and Condition: The lighter weight jacket is in VG condition with some wear and creases. Please see the photos for details. There are no seam splits. The text on the spine is slightly worn, but legible. There is no writing. The jacket is currently housed in a new, protective outer poly sleeve to help prevent wear.
Inner Sleeve Type and Condition: The presumably original paper sleeve is in VG condition with some creases, but no seam splits. I have placed the record in a high quality poly inner sleeve for storage and shipping purposes.
Inserts: No inserts.
Shipping Notes: I've been selling records by mail since 1992. I know a thing or two about packing records safely for shipping, using appropriate, professional grade packing materials. The shipping charge you are asked to pay covers some of the costs I incur for postage and quality packing materials. This record will be packed well for secure shipping. By default the package will travel by the potentially slower USPS Media Mail rate. For speedier delivery, options to use USPS Ground Advantage or USPS Priority Mail shipping are provided at check-out. I generally pack and ship items sold right away and hand them over to the post office at the earliest opportunity (sometimes same day, sometimes next day).

I promise to pack your item securely, no matter what it is. Everything I ship gets packed well, so don't worry about a thing.
If appropriate I will add insurance coverage. Sometimes I will add signature tracking (USA) when your item is shipped. Signature tracking ensures that the postal service doesn't leave your valuable item unattended on your doorstep out in the sun or rain - it has to be handed over face to face. If you order something rare and/or worth a bit, be prepared to have to accept delivery in person.

When multiple items are shipped together, I can almost always give you a better deal on the shipping cost compared to the individual shipping costs. I promise to give you the best rate possible based on the items purchased and the shipping method required.
For "Buy It Now" items (most of what I offer), simply add each item that you want to your shopping cart. When ready to commit to buying, request a total from me from your cart and I'll send an invoice as soon as I can. Since I'm not a computer and I do other things like sleep and take the dogs for walks, you might not receive an immediate response, but I will get back to you as soon as possible. If you decide to pay for items you want individually instead of requesting a total from the shopping cart, I will promptly send back whatever money I can for a shipping discount.
- Some items are not compatible for combined shipping.
- Combining shipping might require changing the shipping method or increase packaging materials expense.
- A few items that I offer are not eligible for combined shipping.
- Of course it is ok to ask about combined shipping costs up front. You have to tell me exactly what you intend to buy and where it will be shipped. I can't always give an exact cost, but I can at least give you an estimate.
- I reserve the right to limit the number or total value of items that I'm willing to send in a single package.
- For international sales I use ebay's international shipping program. Combined shipping depends on the ebay shipping program rules in place at the time of shipment. It is possible that no combined shipping discount is available for international orders.
