Description
This is a rare vintage 16-inch WORLD BROADCASTING SYSTEM, INC. transcription record, likely from the 1930s-1940s era. These discs were used for radio broadcasts and are much larger than standard LPs. This particular disc features "PROGRAM UNITS" including "Moonglow," "Mr. Cheney's Learned to Swing," and "Pop Corn Man" on one side, and program numbers on the other. It is a vertical cut record, characteristic of early transcription discs, and plays at 33 1/3 RPM. The record is made of a reddish-brown shellac material. A unique piece of broadcasting and music history, perfect for collectors of vintage audio, radio ephemera, or early jazz/swing recordings. Please examine images for condition details, including label wear and surface scratches typical of a record of this age and use.
