Description

This is it - the really rare and desirable Genesis LP of almost legendary rareness.

I bought it new, on spec, from a second hand / junk shop in Dock street, Newport in 1970 together with the Chicago (Chicago Transit Authority they were then) debut double album and another album which has gone the way of all disappointing records. Were they redundant stock, were they stolen ? Who knows - they were brand new and unplayed, very cheap and I had just been paid.

But the Genesis (and the Chicago ) album have stayed with me ever since and had a huge number of plays.

So this album is anything but mint. It has been well used and well loved, is not perfect but on the whole plays well if you're not after perfection.

I noticed on my set up ( a cheap and cheerful Technics music player from the early 90's) one track had a little 1 second skip, and there may well be more, but the album played both sides without any significant problem. Some occasional background noise but that might be from use or from my needle. I'm not an expert.

But I'm in dire need of a holiday - and I have the tracks on DVD - so its offered to a good home at a huge starting price (well it is a classic very desirable, very very rare album) !
