The title is “VINYL IS NOT DEAD, IT JUST SMELLS FUNNY – THE FRANK ZAPPA SINGLES”.
A book in English language made from a collector for fans and lovers of Zappa’s work on vinyl. On 530 full colored pages, every single, maxi, and EP with Frank Zappa contribution is exposed, including more than 3000 color photos, many back- ground information and a price guide. Furthermore you’ll find pictures of the rarest test pressings, acetates, cover and label variations, a price guide, and a lot of other weird stuff.
The book consists of a preface from Jeff Simmons (bass- ist/rhythm guitarist of the Mothers of Invention from 1970 and 1974) and Napoleon Murphy Brock (Grammy winner in 2009, saxophone/flute/vocals of Frank Zappa between 1974 and 1984), the cover design is made by Cal Schenkel (artwork designer of many Frank Zappa records).
The book was in the focus of the 2013 Zappanale Exhibition which dealt in 2013 with Frank Zappa’s singles on vinyl.

Nach mehr als 5 Jahren Arbeit ist DAS Frank Zappa Single Buch nun fertig.
Der Titel: “VINYL IS NOT DEAD, IT JUST SMELLS FUNNY – THE FRANK ZAPPA SINGLES”.

Ein Buch, welches für Fans und Liebhaber von Zappas Werk auf Vinyl geschrieben wurde. Auf den 530 Seiten im Großformat sind mehr als 3000 Farbbilder aller Singles, Maxis und EPs mit der Beteiligung von Frank Zappa abgebildet. Zusätzlich gibt es viele Hintergrundinformationen und einen Preisführer. Das Buch ist komplett in englischer Sprache verfasst. Durch die vielen Bilder und den gut gegliederten und teilweise tabellarischen Aufbau erschließt sich das Buch aber auch sehr schnell einem Publikum, welches in der englischen Sprache nicht sattelfest ist.

Weiterhin sind im Buch Fotos und Informationen über seltene Testpressungen, Acetate, Cover- und Labelvariationen sowie viele weitere, manchmal sogar etwas seltsame Veröffentlichungen zum Werk von Frank Zappa zu finden.   Das Vorwort wurde sowohl von Jeff Simmons (Bassist/Rhythmusgitarre der Mothers of Invention von 1970 bis 1974) geschrieben, als auch von Napoleon Murphy Brock (Grammy Preisträger, Saxophon/Querflöte/Gesang bei Frank Zappa zwischen 1974 und 1984). Der großartige vollfarbige Bucheinband wurde von Cal Schenkel (Designer von vielen Frank Zappa Alben) gestaltet.   Das Buch wurde erstmals während der Zappanale Ausstellung 2013 der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt. Focus der Ausstellung war das Werk Frank Zappas auf den kleinen Vinylscheiben.
  Das Buch hat 530 Seiten, im Großformat 302 x 215 x 32 mm, Hardcover-Buch.
