Violin Sonata Perlman Ashkenazy UK Decca SXL 6408
Itzhak Perlman, with Vladimir Ashkenazy perform the Franck “Violin Sonata”, and with Barry Tuckwell, the Brahms “Horn Trio Op 40”. An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 6408 stampers 1W/1W), the labels are black with silver lettering, a full frequency stereo sound fatband and ffss logo, and Made in England… at 10 o’clock. The record has some minor scuffs and is otherwise of excellent appearance and plays and sounds superb with some low-level surface noise. The cover laminate has rubbed with small creases in the laminate – mainly along the spine edge.
