WAGNER 100 years of the Bayreuth festival 25LPvinyl box set Phillips Sawallisch, Bohm, Opera RARE VINYL box set Club SondereditionWagner – Opera vinyl box set 25 LPs – all live recordingsfrom Bayreuth Festival. Phillips label released 1976 This is a great box set of25 LPS with some excellent performances. It contains:
The Flying Dutchman (der fliegende Hollander) conducted bySawallisch 1961,
Tanhnauser (tannhausser) conducted by Sawallisch 1962,
Tristran and Isolde conducted by Karl Bohm 1966,
The Meistersinger von Nurnburg conducted by Silvio Varviso1974,
Parsifal conducted by Hans Knapperstbusch 1962.

There is an accompanying booklet – in German. As far as Ican tell none of the LPS are scratched; there is a slight yellow dust on acouple of them which were at the top of the box; which Ithink is from a disintegrated sponge protector that was originally in the box.I believe that a number of the LPS have never even been played and some onlyplayed once (the box set was owned by a relative who had been given it as agift; but he wasn’t into Wagner so never really listened to it).
If you like Wagner and like the sound of music on vinyl thisis a great buy.
Please note that the box is damaged – cover has detachedfrom spine, see picture, but vinyl is fine. Released in 1976, this is now apretty rare complete box set with records in great condition. Individually manyof these recordings seem to sell for quite a bit of money, so in a complete boxset of 5 performances it’s possibly a real bargain.
Please note it weighs 9lb before it is packaged so will cost £16.96 by cheapest royal mail parcel option(!!). EBAY WILL ONLY LET ME LIST POSTAGE AS £7 (I think ebay has assumed it is Asingle vinyl LP NOT A HEAVY BOX SET). POSTAGE WILL BE £17 SEVENTEEN POUNDS NOT SEVEN POUNDS. Happy for anyone to collect from Hull, or I can drop off in Sheffield as amthere approx every 6-7 weeks. I can possibly deliver between Hull-Sheffieldwithin a 6 week period as long as you cover fuel cost for any additional milesI would drive.
