The world of historic Wagner recordings.
Concluding a wonderful consignment showcase of historic operatic recordings by an internationally reknown opera performer,collector and friend, I offer this most famous Columbia Viva Tonal set of Wagner operatic gems in their first recordings on site at the Bayreuth Theater.
Showcasing the legendary acoustics of the Bayreuth Theater, noted Wagner conductors Dr. Karl Muck and Franz Von Hoesslin lead the Bayreuth Festspiele Orchestra and Chorus in these famous orchestral excerpts from The Ring Cycle and Parsifal.
This is the very desirable blue wax edition in Mint- condition.
An excellent showcase of Columbia's Viva Tonal early electrical sound, the set showcases famous Ring Cycle and Parsifal symphonic excerpts.
Note, there is some lite age/wear and looseness to spine area:otherwise fine.

On a personal note, as one of the founding Board of Directors of Los Angeles Opera's African Americans for LA Opera*,who served from 1994-1999, I am very proud of this opportunity to showcase these recorded history gems.
These recordings set the performance standards, upon which contemporary singers, like Thomas Hampson continue to reference and admire.
*Los Angeles Opera established both an African Americans and Hispanics outreach division in 1994,under the directon of the late Peter Hemmings as a audience and community development outreach in the wake of the civil disturbances arising from the Rodney King videotape.
