Description
First STEREO recording of the complete Ring Cycle. Recorded from September 1958 to late 1965. Conducted by (Sir) Georg Solti. The saga of production all reported in JOHN CULSHAW's accompanying hard cover book. There are 38 album sides, contained in 4 boxes (plus the book) fitting into an overall master box that has protected these pressings well. In fact the records are in MINT and look to be in unplayed condition each still snug in its own original poly lined paper sleeve. I have examined each record and can find no flaws. This is the US edition (on London label whereas UK on Decca) The boxes also have intact and unmarked the accompanying album size booklets (story and libretto) for each sub-work of the cycle. Namely Die Walkure, Siegfried, Das Reingold and Gotterdammerung - each internal container houses a booklet and between 3-6 albums - once again the boxes all are in perfect condition with no wear marks on the covers or any other area. Culshaw's book, the sixth printing notation of which dates this particular set as a 1974 edition has several very small tears in jacket sleeve. The only wear at all is on the outer housing box with a few scuff marks from having to hold up the 16 Ib weight of all this vinyl and cardboard and packing Pricing of shipping will be as calculated with no additional charges for handling whatsoever. the last one of these went for $117.00 on ebay recently. very rare in this kind of condition. thank you!
