WALTER DAVIS “Davis Cup” RVG, P, DG, LAM, BLP 4018 Mono Vinyl

This is 1960, first edition, “RVG” stamped, Laminated Cover, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of WALTER DAVIS’ “Davis Cup on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 4018. Musicians include Walter Davis Jr., Donald Byrd, Jackie McLean, Sam Jones, Art Taylor.

VINYL plays beautifully, cleanly, with only an occasional pop or tick. Ensemble sections are very clear, dynamic and strong. No distortion. No skips. Excellent gloss. A few non-feelable hairline marks. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “47 West 63rd” labels are clean, some fading, spindle wear. Original inner sleeve included. See photos.

LAMINATED COVER is in very good shape. No peeling. Top seam shows cracking, 1” split. Bottom seam shows cracking, two-inch split, taped. Corners worn. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 47 West 63rd St., New York 23” back jacket shows wear, ink stains.  Please see photos.

   

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
