SEE PHOTOS FOR CONDITION.   Overall, the record plays with some background noise.   Listen here. There is significant remaining gloss on both sides.  There are visible scuffs and scratches. Inspect photos. See important condition notes below. The A-1 stampers have made for a strong sound on this record.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES: There is a very quick skip on the 'Dear Little Girl' side, the cause of which is featured in the photos.  The short, narrow gouge may be an easy repair for someone with the necessary skill.  As is, it doesn't distract heavily, in my opinion.  The record has the very slight warp but plays with no addition tracking weight on my set up.

The video features the unfiltered tracks recorded on AT LP120 USB with Shure M78 stylus and 2.5g tracking weight.  The 2nd half of 'Dear Little Girl' is the true essence of the Mississippi Sheiks; they rev up the tempo of the tune and the fiddle and guitar interplay is spectacularly effortless. Classic and rare in this condition.

These scarce recordings are superb early country blues with refined instrumental performances by members of the legendary string band the Mississippi Sheiks.  Their music has recently been re-issued by Jack White of Third Man Records, among others, but long before that Walter Vinson and the Chatmon Brothers were making some of the most entertaining and sought after vernacular music of their day.
