Walter Marchetti "Per la sette dell'orecchio" LP privately issued by the artist for Vandalia (10584) in Italy, 1984. ****** Rec:m / Cov:m (still sealed) ****** Original copy of this long out of print LP titled "Per la sete dell'orecchio". One of the most intriguing and uncompromising Marchetti's work. This release from 1984 was issued on LP by Vandalia, but in fact was privately issued by Marchetti himself via this Cramps Records related label. Humor is high in all of his avant-garde compositions, which include largely conceptual and political works that align Walter Marchetti with the Fluxus conceptual art movement. "Dal nulla e verso il nulla" (for marimba, maracas, and magnetic tape) is an engaging and lengthy minimal composition, while "Per la sette dell'orecchio" is a deep cavernous meditation made from environmental recordings and water sounds. Overall, the recording is a masterful and resonating piece of work which reflects a stark beauty within its abrasive sound.
