Description

Walter Morse Rummel ( July 19, 1887 – May 2, 1953 ) was a prominent pianist, especially associated with Claude Debussy's works, as well as a composer and music editor. Born in Berlin, he was of German-English descent and active mainly in France. He studied piano with Leopold Godowsky and composition with Hugo Kaun, before moving to Paris in 1908. While in Paris he met Claude Debussy and became a leading interpreter and proponent of Debussy's piano compositions. He died in Bordeaux in 1953.

10" French Disque Gramophone ( HMV ) P-863: Brahms, Waltz in A flat major op. 39 No 15 / Chopin, Waltz in D flat major op. 64 No 1, matrices OG442-1, OG441-1. Recorded in Paris 1930/31.

Autograph in ink on both sides dated: Paris February 1936.

1 = mint, never played on gramophone, is not used

1-2 = top copy, no traces of use - virtually as new

2 = excellent copy, few light non-sounding rubs/marks

2-3 = light traces of wear (rubs/marks), very light greying and/or light scratches, non sounding blemishes

3 = a good average copy with more noticeable rubs and marks; light greying, few light scratches possible

3-4 = more traces of use, sonic wear from light greying. An inferior average copy, light scratches possible

4 = some sounding wear, heavier rubs and marks, scratches possible

5 = obvious sounding wear, heavy rubs, marks, scratches. An unsatisfactory copy.
