Description
you're bidding on a rare original pressing of walter strerath's "fly to brazil" record. the gatefold cover has some tear on the lower back and a splitted seam (the glue came off - it's actually not splitted). i have to grade it VG for those blemishes. the record itself is in great condition and almost plays like new (you probably won't find a nicer copy), there is just the slightest evidence that the record was played at all (solid EX). dustygroove.com says:
"A rare bossa jazz session from 70s Germany -- recorded with a very fluid groove! We'll be honest in saying that we only know pianist Walter Strerath from this one album -- but he's a heck of a great talent on the keys, with a style that's at once highly rhythmic and warmly lyrical -- a blend that's a bit like American pianist Jack Wilson at his best, and which is wonderfully suited to the bossa-inspired style of the record. Accompaniment here is from bassist Dieter Petereit and drummer Peter Schmidt -- again two names we don't really know -- and they bring a style to the record that's similar to some of the best MPS/Saba trio sessions of a few years before. Titles include the originals "Fly To Brazil", "Bossa Made In Germany", "Bara Bossa", "On 4 Goes It Loose Blues", and "Slow Fly" -- plus a great version of "Con Alma"."
