WANDA ROBINSON – “Me & a Friend” (1973) Perception-37 original pressing Strong VG/EX (cover/record)
Harder and funkier than her debut, Black Ivory, this is basically Julius Brockington’s deep funk band backing Wanda’s spiritual poetry. Described as “wooly, greasy, and tough,” the emphasis here is definitely on the groove with a serious funk focus. Killer and obscure lost LP.
The cover has some wear and an 8-inch seam split at the top. The vinyl is clean and glossy and nice with just a couple of minor sleeve scuffs that don’t affect play. Conservative grading: Strong VG/EX (cover/record).
