Description

HERE IS a scarce release by FLETCHER HENDERSON AND HIS ORCHESTRA.  "Scarce" because I've seen very few copies, and none in the fine condition of this one: 


"WAR HORSE MAMA" and "SUD BUSTIN' BLUES"  


Recorded March 11, 1924, this is the "Club Alabam'" band, with most of the classic personnel in place: ELMER CHAMBERS, HOWARD SCOTT (trumpets), TEDDY NIXON (trombone, DON REDMAN, COLEMAN HAWKINS (saxophones), CHARLIE DIXON (banjo), FLETCHER HENDERSON (piano and leader), RALPH ESCUDERO (tuba) KAISER MARSHALL (drums).  


This original 1924 Brunswick 2592 is in lovely, undamaged E condition.  Strangely, it's the first and only release by Fletcher on this label until late 1927!
