1988 first pressing NYHC sXe VINYL LP on Caroline Records / Fist Records

Out-of-print 21 year old (it's legal!) 1988 VINYL COMP LP that was a LIMITED EDITION, and that you now see up for sale or at punk rock garage sales less often.   
33 rpm black vinyl 12" LP filled w/ punk rock, hardcore, sXe, youth crew etc.

Here's what I know and don't know.

This is a PROMOTIONAL-ONLY copy that we got from Revelation over 20 years ago. (See the closeup photo of the gold promo stamp on the rear cover)
There is also a barcode sticker (I guess this was at the early stages of the barcode thing, so they put a sticker on the back since it didn't have a barcode actually on the cover) on the rear cover in the upper lefthand corner.

It has the original blue/green split record labels on each side of the LP.

The original inserts are long gone, but they're rather easy to replace. I mean, they ended up making the lyric booklet smaller, and changing things, so you need to find another person or a record store owned by someone you hate where you can get your hands on one of the first pressings, but once you get this, your own copy, you can go to your straight edge hardcore collector enemy's house, (y'know,the guy you don't like), or that record store owned and staffed by complete tools, and while you're distracting them, lift the inserts, now that you have your own vinyl.  Much easier than stuffing a huge 12" unbendable record into your sock. (Hopefully you know I'm kidding.  I'm trying to lighten the mood now that I've delivered the bad news that there are no inserts.  Distraction.)

VG/VG+ vinyl, VG/VG+ cover
Read below for Goldmine Grading guidelines.  This LP doesn't fit all of what it says below. Basically, it's been owned and played, and has signs of being pre-owned, but the wear is minor, looking like only surface scuffs.  There shouldn't be any pops, clicks, skips, etc.
The cover has minor edge wear in places and a couple of light creases, but no tears, splits, etc.  Mostly just corner dings and edgewear.
All in all, a nice starter piece that's very listenable and quite attractive until you find your sealed copy that costs you hundreds!

Most collectors, especially those who want to play their records, will be happy with a VG+ record, especially if it is toward the high end of the grade, (sometimes called VG++ or E+).

VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that don’t affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, so long as repeated playing has not misshapen the hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable.

VG+ Covers should have only minor wear. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than one inch long) at the bottom, the most vulnerable locataion. Also, a VG+ cover may have some defacing, such as a cut-out marking. Covers with cut-out markings can never be considered Near Mint.

There are LOTS of secret etched messages on both sides of the vinyl in the matrix:
One side says "Open Your Eyes, Look and See" AND "B.I.B."  AND "Mabbey's De Light"
The other says "G.I. Joe Commander appears courtesy of the Adventure Team"
and both sides actually have MUCH MORE scrawled into the matrix, by hand and a "mastered by" stamp

AND
along with that you're getting a copy of the 1988 War Zone (Warzone, WarZone) classic "Don't Forget The Struggle, Don't Forget The Streets)

Not a record you see every day in its vinyl LP version.  This is now 21 years old, like the compilation above.  This copy is not the one that's going to complete your collection and make you frame it to show off to all of your friends.  As you can see in the photographs, this is a "I've always wanted to own this on vinyl, so I'll buy this beat-up copy until a perfect one comes along" copy.
As you can see in the photos, it's lived a long hard 21 years.  We didn't even try to clean it up. There isn't really any damage to the cover, like tears, seam splits, etc., but it's dirty, like a white trash baby.

There's a few dirty spots that feel like little muddy hands touched the album cover and it wasn't cleaned.  I didn't try, but it looks like much of it is removable.  Meaning, there's no actual damage to the vehicle itself, but since we took it 4-wheelin' and didn't hose it down, it looks like crap.  (I was using a literary writing style to help describe it).

The vinyl has quite a bit of wear on it, so it's going to be a bit noisy, but it doesn't look like it's going to overpower the music. Let's just say this: I wouldn't want to test my brand new expensive stylus by playing this LP, but as a "I'm buying this well-used copy until I can find a sealed one" deal, it'll be listenable if you pump up the volume and rock out.

Under the crusty stains, it actually looks like it's EX or better.
The vinyl is at least VG, maybe higher.

Many of the imperfections found on a VG+ Record are more obvious on a VG record. That said, VG records — which usually sell for no more than 25 percent of a an NM record — are among the biggest bargains in record collecting, because most of the “big money” goes for more perfect copies. For many listeners, a VG record or sleeve will be worth the money.

VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail.

When played, a VG record has surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages and during a song’s intro and ending. But the noise won’t overpower the music otherwise. Minor writing, tape or a sticker can detract from the label. Many collectors who have jukeboxes will use VG records in them and not think twice. They remain a fine listening experience, just not the same as if it were in better shape.

It seems like a lot of other sellers are experiencing the same problems.  I don't know if it's simply the postal system in those countries, or their customs officials, but packages are taking up to and over 30 days at times, and we're having claims and disputes filed on packages we've definitely mailed and can prove we've mailed.  So if you're in either of those countries, understand that you're going to have to pay extra for us to afford delivery confirmation or tracking, or some way to prove to you that it was sent.  I'm sorry, but that's how it's going to have to be.  We're losing money on bidders from both places.

Our vinyl is sold to you in the condition it arrived, and we display it without manhandling it.  We are collectors, every one of us working here, and we want you to get your collectibles in the best condition possible, therefore WE NEVER REMOVE VINYL FROM ITS SLEEVE AND LEAN IT AGAINST ANYTHING nor do we REMOVE THE VINYL RECORDS FROM THEIR SLEEVES & LAY THEM DOWN ON A SURFACE TO DISPLAY THEM.

Many sellers seem to have a disregard for the items they're selling and only care about making their pictures look pretty.  We only care about the pieces we sell.  And you.  So you'll see that the records are displayed IN THEIR ORIGINAL SLEEVES, with just a hint of the vinyl showing so that you can see what color they are.  If you want to see the vinyl pulled from its sleeve and resting on a dusty surface, look at someone else's auction or blog and then come back to our page and buy a copy in PERFECT SHAPE.

See the photo(s).  Sorry about my hand in the shots, (if it is), but I try to NEVER LAY THE VINYL DOWN ON ANYTHING, unlike lots of sellers, who FREAKIN' lay records down on tables and things to photograph them!  We give them all the very clean hand or WHITE GLOVE TREATMENT, as you see in the photos, and take the pics with someone holding the vinyl in the air, never touching it, pulling it carefully from its sleeve.  Whatever we sell you is going to be in the best shape possible. We're all collectors and know that other collectors appreciate the extra mile.

This is a vinyl record, NOT A CD.  You play it on a turntable.  That's an arcane device that spins plastic around and around at a constant speed and a diamond on the end of a stick scrapes at it and makes noise that you hopefully enjoy.
