Description
This LP is is getting rare in this great condition.
It's on the UK Vertigo swirl label and is entitled 'Red Sea' by the band Warhorse.
It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is 6360 066. This album was originally released in 1972. It was the band's second album and features Nick Simper, the original bass player from Deep Purple. The music is superb with loads of powerful electric lead guitar and keyboard fills as well as excellent vocals from lead singer, Ashley Holt.
It's a classic prog psych recording from a seriously talented band.
OUTER SLEEVE - The gatefold sleeve is in fine condition. There is hardly any wear on the front and rear of the sleeve. The edges do show some very minor wear and the spine is in fine condition (apart from a very thin crease mark which runs down the length of the spine as the sleeve has been opened and closed). The inner two halves of the sleeve are in superb condition. There is no wording along the spine. I've graded the sleeve Ex.
INNER BAG - This is an expanded Vertigo swirl, die cut type which is polythene lined. There is one minor tear along one of the edges which is hardly noticeable. It states at the bottom of both sides of the inner sleeve 'MADE IN ENGLAND British Patent No. 800153 & 973931 - PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS - TO AVOID SUFFOCATION KEEP THOS BAG AWAY FROM BABIES AND CHILDREN'. I've graded the inner bag as Ex-.
RECORD - The record is in really fine condition. It looks clean and shiny and appears to have been played a number of times. There are some very superficial marks on either side which do not affect the quality. It plays very well on both sides with some minor surface noise and some occasional pops and clicks on both sides. These blemishes do not detract from the overall quality of the record. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.
LABELS - The labels are - side one - Vertigo black and white swirl design - side two - smaller Vertigo black and white swirl design with all track credits for sides one and two. It states at the bottom of the label on side two - 'Produced by Ian Kimmet and Warhorse - Engineer - David Stock'. There are some minor spindle marks around both holes. The labels are in overall fine condition with no damage. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - 6360066 1 Y X 1 420 1 1 3 - side two - 6360066 2 Y X 1 420 1 1 3. I've graded the record Ex+.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again in such a lovely condition.
THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM.
