Warhorse biography
Most famous for being the band of ex-MK1 PURPLE bassist Nicky Simper, this group also had in members Ashley Holt on vocals, Mac Poole on drums, Frank Wilson on kbs and respectively Ged Peck and Pete Parker on guitars on their first and second albums. Their first album is very much in the mould of DEEP PURPLE in between the Mk1 and Mk2 sound, but their second is an harder edged affair with more prominent affair. Both albums are quite fine in quality and should please most progheads into the 70's. It is interesting to make a parallel between WARHORSE and CAPTAIN BEYOND as that band had the other ex-PURPLE frontman Rod Evans, and they also developed an harder edged sound than that of Mk1 PURPLE, one of the reasons Ritchie BLACKMORE sacked the two unlucky boys.

RECORD GRADING
I use a very conservative process when grading my eBay items.
MINT
Sealed album...!!!
NEAR MINT
Like new. The vinyl retains its original gloss, and the jacket is clean with no wear nor marks on the label.
EX EXCELLENT
May have a few scuffs or very light scratches which do not affect its playability. May have some minor rubs on the label or spindle. May have some writing on the label which will be noted. May have some slight wear on the jacket but no splits! This is the desirable grade for most collectors.
VG+
VERY GOOD+
The vinyl and cover has light general wear including scratches (may be audible), small splits on the jacket, and some label wear (including writing).
VG
VERY GOOD
General wear both on vinyl and jacket, audible scratches, split jacket (including ringwear) and label wear.
POOR/DAMAGED
Non-playable!!! Sold for the jacket only, or sold as a "rare" filler copy.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT WHEN VINYL WAS THE STANDARD, 20 TO 30% OF ALBUMS CAME OUT OF THE SHRINK WRAP AS BAD PRESSINGS WITH SURFACE NOISE. OBVIOUSLY, SUCH BAD PRESSINGS WOULD NOT BE IDENTIFIABLE THROUGH VISUAL EXAMINATION, NO MATTER HOW CAREFUL
Happy Bidding !
