Description

SUN # 239 - Warren Smith "ROCK 'n' ROLL RUBY" b/w "I'd Rather Be Safe Than Sorry"
The song "Rock 'N' Roll Ruby" (written by Johnny Cash) was Warren Smith's first SUN recording - recorded on February 5, 1956 it was a great start for Smith; the sales of this single surpassed Elvis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash's at Sun records, according to an article I read.
This record was among other new 78's that was part of the retail inventory of an old  record shop in NYC that had closed up, which we bought in the early 70's - the shop only sold new records. There are some very minor scuffs, and some very slight scratch marks. I am certain the record was never retailed. It is possible the shop played the record for one of their customers, but I don't believe so. I don't see any signs of wear. Most new Sun 78 records I've had are never absolutely perfect - In my opinion they weren't the highest quality records, but they sure did the job - This record is really outstanding for being 65 years old. The sleeve is original, and looks exactly like all the Sun records I have sold. Please see the images, and feel free to ask questions. The labels are bright and clean.
Record will be packed very well; I use rigid foam boards (both sides 1" thick) with bubble wrap and foam peanuts. The box will be shipped USPS Priority, and insured to it's full sale value. I combine shipping charges for ANY additional records - Return customers given special consideration on offers.
