Description
W.A.S.P.'s eponymous debut album remastered at half-speed and reissued on exclusive limited edition clear vinyl!
W.A.S.P. first exploded onto a raucous 80's metal scene in 1984 with their genre-defining eponymous debut album W.A.S.P. With an unwavering swagger, a singular image and their fair share of controversy to boot, W.A.S.P quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the world of heavy metal. Recorded at Los Angeles' Record Plant in the summer of 1984 and produced/co-produced by frontman Blackie Lawless and Shrapnel Records founder Mike Varney respectively, W.A.S.P. was the first, and remains one of the finest, examples of a band with little regard for the rules, an outlaw attitude and the razor-sharp music to back it all up.
"Rock 'n' roll is headbanging, rock 'n' roll should make you want to f**k, if it don't make you want to f**k then it ain't rock 'n' roll - I can't say it better than that!" – Blackie Lawless
"It was all about shock for W.A.S.P., be it flaming codpieces, tying a semi-naked woman to a torture rack mid-set, tossing raw meat into the audience or Blackie Lawless' own stupefying arrogance... One thing is for certain, in the annals of metal there are very few bands like W.A.S.P." - Metal Hammer
Having celebrating its 40th anniversary with a special reissue by Madfish last year, this edition of W.A.S.P. is pressed on exclusive limited edition clear vinyl and remastered at half-speed for optimum sound quality, capturing the raw energy and rebellious spirit that made W.A.S.P. a cornerstone of 80's metal.
