This auction is for WAYLON JENNINGS - AT JD'S  bat records bat lp 1001  The cover for this rare local private pressing is an extremely high vg. The front is very clean and shows very slight chipping to the white at the top where the record loads in. The rear is also pretty clean but some light staining can be seen in a couple of spots. All seams are solid and in good shape. What keeps this from getting a vg+ rating is some slight water damage to the bottom right corner as you look at it from the front. This damage is minor and the overall appearance of the cover is great. This is the rarer variation of this cover where the record loads from the top. I have owned several of these over the years and "top loaders" are a heck of a lot rarer than the traditional side loading covers. The record is in vg- condition. The record does have a very nice gloss to it and saw very little play. Unfortunately the play it did see was pretty rough. The a side is more of a vg with some marks here and there and these are all fairly light. The b side has some serious scratches to it about 8 of them and visually is a vg-. I have played this record several times through on both sides at less than 2 grams tracking weight and it plays with no skips or jumps. At quieter points a pop could be heard particularly between the songs. The record also has some very slight warping from storage. This causes the edge rise just some but this is very slight. This was not so bad and like I said at less than 2 grams weight I had no problems with playing this record. I found the record played surprisingly well and the playback was vg or better at times. The pressing quality here is top shelf and Waylon sounds great I thoroughly enjoyed all of my listens. If I already did not own one of these I would be more than happy to own and play this record. Do keep in mind if you are looking for a perfect copy this is not it but I felt it played great and much better than it looked.
