Description
WAYNE ROLAND BROWN debut LP 1974 RARE NZ prog hippy rock blues
Wayne Roland Brown – Self-titled LP (orig. New Zealand Strange STEREO BALZ 005)
Release date: early 1975. Recording date: 1974.
On offer here is a VERY RARE original issue of the debut album by Wellington-based singer-songwriter, WAYNE ROLAND BROWN. This LP includes a mixture of covers (Bob Dylan, Beatles, Joni Mitchell) and originals. My personal highlights are the two versions of “All Along the Watchtower”, which open and close the album. The first is organ-driven, while the second is delivered in a more relaxed manner with lilting piano and a dramatic conclusion. Bonus: this copy also happens to be AUTOGRAPHED on the back cover!
