WAYNE SHORTER Lee Morgan blues a la carte 1985 Analog issue of a classic 1959 Date on Vee Jay. Near Mint record bought new by me, and because it is part of a 10k record collection, will have been played a handful of times at most over the past 38 years, I always bought more than I could regularly hear. Still in the original shrinkwrap so the sleeve is very well protected. The record has no marks to the playing surfaces or spindle marks even on the labels, it is flat, not off centre and plays fully near mint. To give you an idea of the music, this is bang in the soundscape of late 50s Miles and Jazz Messengers territory, with Wayne going out like Coltrane was doing on the Atlantics of the time. Lee solos beautifully and at length in the side one closer, Down in the Depths. Hard bop to Modal heaven, in other words. I have the matching Shorter Vee Jay album as well also this week. If the appearance or playgrade suggests it requires it, our records are cleaned on a wash and vac machine, using art du son fluid in distilled water. This is already in a new heavy poly outer with antistatic inners added with outer sleeve and records all layered behind each other to prevent splits.
