Description

This is a BRAND NEW STILL SEALED 1972 U.S. Nodlew Records LP titled 'Liberated Brother' from jazz-funk keyboard man Weldon Irvine. It is Nodlew Records U.S. catalog number 1001, a GUARANTEED 1972 ORIGINAL with older heavier cardboard cover and older more brittle shrinkwrap.  This LP is NOT THE RECENT REISSUE - IT WAS NOT OBTAINED THROUGH CURRENT WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTION CHANNELS - I OBTAINED IT AS PART OF A COLLECTION OF VINTAGE 1960s AND EARLY 1970s LPs I RECENTLY PURCHASED FROM A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL.  Here is what the All Music.com website has to say about this album: "Weldon Irvine's debut as a leader remains one of the most fiercely idiosyncratic electric jazz outings of the early '70s. Innovative not only for its moody, nuanced jazz-funk sensibility, Liberated Brother also translates the uncommonly strong passion of Irvine's political and philosophical views into its grooves, creating music of rare sincerity and ambition. While the record's first-half features longer, more meditative songs, like the Latin-inspired title tune and "Blues Wel-Don," the second side of Liberated Brother commands the most attention. With sterling contributions from guitarist Tommy Smith, bassist Roland Wilson, and drummer Napoleon Revels-Bey, cuts like "Mr. Clean" and "Sister Sanctified" (later sampled by Boogie Down Productions for the rap classic "My Philosophy") achieve a deeply funky consciousness forged from elements of jazz, soul, and psychedelia; "Juggah Buggah" even features Irvine on Moog synthesizer, further expanding the LP's cosmic reach."  Tracks: Liberated Brother, Here's Where I Came In, Blues Wel-Don, Mr. Clean, Gloria, Homey, Juggah Buggah, Sister Sanctified.  As stated above, this LP is STILL SEALED in its original factory shrinkwrap - Record is in 100% pristine condition. Album lies perfectly flat on both sides with no indication of any bends or warps.  Cover has no real visible flaws. This NEW SEALED AND MUSICALLY GREAT RARE INDIE LABEL LP would make a choice addition to any 1970s jazz-funk record collection! Winning bidder pays $3.00 media mail postage or actual priority mail postage within the U.S. I WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE - Uninsured first class international airmail postage to the UK or anyplace in Europe is $13.50 - Please e-mail me for postage rates to other areas outside the U.S. WINNING BIDDER PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH - IT PROBABLY WILL NOT GET HERE!
