Description
A WARMER SHADE OF WESS LP by WESS AND THE AIREDALES. ORIGINAL SPANISH PRESSING on VERGARA / DURIUM (7.164-SXV) from the late 1960´s. Another KILLER SLICE OF SOUL and FUNK from ITALY brought to you by WESS. Several EXCELLENT TRACKS, featuring JAMES BROWN-style FUNKY VOCALS, MASSIVE HORNS, HEAVY DRUMS, BLAZING ORGAN and GUITAR. The track “CRAZY”, with its ILL HAND CLAPPING BREAK is credited to famous Italian composer ARMANDO TROVAJOLI and to CARLO PES (guitar player with CULT GROUP I MARC 4) and was featured on the soundtrack of the SEXY DINO RISI´s MOVIE “VEDO NUDO”. COOL VERSIONS of “WHO´S MAKING LOVE” and “TRY A LITTLE TENDERNESS”. MULTIPLE SAMPLING POSSIBILITIES for producers and GREAT STUFF FOR DJ´s and MIXTAPE MAKERS. Sadly, I just learned that Wess Johnson passed away on September 22th, in New York, due to respiratory problems while touring the United States. R.I.P. WESS.
Vinyl has one very small mark on the beginning of the runout groove on side one that causes a skip on the very last second of the last track on that side “ VOLTAMI LE SPALLE”, which happens to be the least interesting song on the album. To me, that last second of that track is not to be missed and that´s the reason I´m offering this copy for sale. Otherwise condition would be EX (check soundclip) Sleeve in VG+ condition (ringwear).
