PORTUGUESE PRESSING on ORFEU/DURIUM (SPAT 4024) from 1978. RARE and IN DEMAND ITALIAN FUNK and SOUL LP. Wess Johnson is an EXCELLENT SINGER with a POWERFUL BLACK VOICE who was born in the US, but became an italian citizen. The LP features a KILLER COVER VERSION OF "FUNKY NASSAU" with HEAVY BASS RHYTHM, TUFF CONGAS, PUNISHING HORNS, BLAZING GUITAR and a NICE DRUM BREAK. There´s also a COOL VERSION of “SHAFT” and other GREAT FUNKY, NORTHERN SOUL-influenced MUSIC on this LP. The track “JUST TELL ME” is credited to PIERO UMILIANI (of ITALIAN LIBRARY and SOUNDTRACK COMPOSING FAME) and it was featured on the soundtrack to UMBERT LENZI´s sexy film “ORGASMO”. EXCELLENT and HARD TO FIND. Check the long soundclip below (NOTE: the soundclip was made from the copy being auctioned). RARE LP.
Vinyl and Sleeve are in VG+ condition.
