Description
This is a fine copy of a 1997 double LP reissue/archival collection of the earliest recordings by the West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band. One of the stranger groups to come out of southern California in the late '60s, WCPAEB released their debut in a very small pressing on the Fifo label in 1966. The LP combines folk-rock (including two Dylan covers), straight-up rock and roll (versions of "You Really Got Me" and "Louie Louie"), pop (notably early versions of two songs that they would revisit on their Reprise debut), and a couple of more experimental tracks. The LP isn't as polished as their later work, but arguably that's one of its charms. This release reissues the debut on disc 1. Disc 2 collects another dozen tracks recorded around the same time, most previously unreleased. The gatefold jacket has creasing in two corners, and is otherwise close to pristine -- EX(+). Disc 1 is clean with a little light scuffing, and plays with minimal surface noise. Disc 2 is clean, and plays like new. Overall, a strong M-.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
