You are purchasing a scarce LP still enclosed in its plastic bag (with the purple circular LION logo selling for $1.98) produced in 1960 called WESTERN PLAYHOUSE adapted from Classics Illustrated Magazine featuring Bob Wilson.
What is unique about this album is #1) its scarcity: From Dan Malan's COMPLETE GUIDE TO CLASSICS COLLECTIBLES printed in 1991, p. 95: "In 1960, the Western Playhouse LP featured Bob Wilson narrating CI#s 96,112,121,129, plus portions of SPCL titles throw in for good measure....The Western LP is the rarest, with four known copies (three of which are actually Canadian)....selling for $100-$300...."
#2 its condition: It is still brand new! It is still enclosed in its original plastic covering which includes the Circular Lion Logo price printed on the plastic covering. My guess is it is one of a kind!

Seven of the great trail-blazing frontiersmen and lawmen of American history come to vivid life here. There's Wyatt Earp, the brave Marshal of Tombstone, Arizona, and the tale of his epic gunfight at the O.K. Corral. There's the story of that other famous lawman, Bat Masterson, Sheriff of Dodge County, Kansas, and the way in which he rounded up the notorious Rudabaugh gang and how he broke up a lynch mob. And, there's the story of how still another famous lawman, Wild Bill Hickock, got his name. There's the historical story of Daniel Boone's exploits during the war with the Shawnee Indians and the delightful story of Davy Crockett and a wintry bear hunt. There's the thrilling adventures of Kit Carson during Comanche Indian raids. And there's the historical story of Jim Bowie and the last stand of the Texans at the Alamo.
The stories are presented with painstaking historical accuracy, stressing the educational values, yet the exciting entertainment values are excellently retained. Bob Wilson, the television and radio favorite,does a truly brilliant job on the narration, projecting the tales with genial warmth and dramatic tension. The stories themselves derive from Classics Illustrated Magazine, a magazine widely endorsed for its solid educational quality by parent and educator organizations. Roberta Strauss wrote the adaptations for records. The musical backgrounds are by Bill Simon and his frontiers-men, with vocals by Len Stokes and Carter Farriss."
