Hi!  You're looking at an EXTREMELY RARE and HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE item that many consider the crowning achievement of the great WESTMINSTER classical label!!  I've seen many, many classical LPs in stores and online, but this is the ONLY time I have seen a copy of this set anywhere!  This is a stunningly beautiful 7 LP Box Set that contains one of the most magnificent recordings of the COMPLETE NINE SYMPHONIES of Ludwig Van Beethoven ever recorded--it's on the Westminster Hi Fi "Natural Presence" Label with the dark blue label and silver print and bears the serial number WN 7701.  Many collectors feel that Westminster is THE FINEST classical vinyl ever manufactured, and this set is HIGHLY prized by audiophiles!!  It's an ORIGINAL ISSUE of this Deluxe set and comes in an oversized, foldout album-style sleeve (it's more like a conventional "album" for photographs than a standard box set) that is a magnetic silver color and contains the seven LPs in individual hinged sleeves that are protected by a foldover plastic inner sleeve.  The inside of the front board has a sleeve that houses a nice, FORTY PAGE book with full details regarding Beethoven, the composition and performance of the Symphonies, and the details of this performance.  The conductor is the great HERMANN SCHERCHEN, who leads the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and Philarmonic Symphony Orchestra of London in the performances.  On the Ninth "Choral" Symphony, Scherchen is joined by soloists MAGDA LASZLO, soprano; HILDE ROESSEL-MAJDAN, contralto; PETRE MUNTEANU, tenor; and PICHARD STANDEN, bass.  Scherchen's approach to Beethoven is refreshingly robust and earthy on all of these performances, and the version of "Eroica" Symphony No. 3 here in particular is almost without question the most exhuberant and exciting ever recorded!  An amazing find!!

This set is in outstanding condition--the vinyl all ranges between NEAR MINT and NEAR MINT- condition, with some sides almost certainly unplayed--there are just a few light paper scuffs in a few spots here and there on several sides and no visible scratches (these should not affect play), and the records should all sound great!  The container looks absolutely beautiful and is NEAR MINT, with only extremely light shelfwear and a few small stains--there are NO tears, markings, splits, or other imperfections at all!  As nice a copy of this extraordinarily RARE set as you're likely to see!!
